Your next home could secure your family’s future — or create difficult choices down the road.

In the climate change era, a home’s resilience or vulnerability is its most important feature, but most real estate agents don’t think about it, much less have any idea how to evaluate it.

I founded Climate Resilient Homes to fill this gap. The stakes are too high to buy a home without expert guidance on climate resilience. When the time comes to secure your family’s future, I can help you find an safe, resilient home.

A climate resilient home provides stability in our tumultuous age.

When our family decided to buy a house in 2022, we knew it needed to be climate resilient but there was little guidance on what to look for. So I did extensive research on weather trends, differential regional impacts, construction methods, soil characteristics, and more.

I developed a framework for identifying resilient homes, which helped us secure the cozy one we live in today. It also led to something we hadn't expected: peace of mind.

I founded Climate Resilient Homes to help other families find that same peace of mind.

I'm Ethan Fletcher, the first real estate agent focused on climate resilience.

Working with me is easy.

I work with clients in two ways, depending on where they want to buy a home:

  • In New York State, where I live and am licensed, I can serve directly as your realtor.

  • In the other 49 states, I can find you the right realtor and serve as your resilience guide throughout your search.

As resilience guide, I’m your expert advisor for your climate resilient home search. My objective is to ensure your search is successful. This may include:

  1. Working with you to refine for what you’re looking for.

  2. Creating a checklist for home visits to ensure rigor.

  3. Conducting targeted research on important issues.

  4. Counseling you through consequential choices.

Getting started is simple.

Here’s what working with me looks like in practice.

  1. Do a free consultation (45-minute call) where you can ask any questions you have and get a feel for me as a person.

  2. Search for a climate resilient home, in any of the 50 states, with my expert guidance.

  3. Buy with confidence, knowing you're securing a more climate resilient future for your family.

The stakes are high. Homebuyers need to be able to identify climate resilient homes. Those who can’t may end up owning “climate lemons” that drain their bank account and erode their quality of life.

I care about your family’s future. I developed a climate resilience framework for my family that I’ll use to help yours.
